Kathleen Rodil

Kathleen excitedly joined the Prolife Wellness team in 2020 bringing five plus years of administrative experience. She graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Studies and Psychology. She is a positive and empathetic individual which makes her a great office addition. Kathleen is committed to ensuring that our patients’ needs are met in a prompt and caring manner, and always with a smile. Kathleen supports a holistic and preventative approach to care and is always happy to assist patients to achieve and maintain their healthcare goals. During spare time, Kathleen likes to stay active by swimming, running outdoors at the gym! She is also bilingual, speaking Tagalog and English.

Charlene Owens

Charlene Owens successfully graduated with honours from the Occupational Therapy Assistant / Physiotherapist Assistant (OTA/PTA) Diploma Program at Humber College Institute of Health Sciences in 2012. During the time, she completed 1500 hours of clinical experience at hospitals, private clinics, and long-term care rehabilitation. Charlene joined Pro Life Wellness Centre Physiotherapy Clinics in 2013 as an OTA/PTA. After a few years, she took on the role of an Office Administrator and exceeded in her role in dealing with patients concerns and managing the employees. Charlene has now been promoted as the Clinic Manager and loves her job. Her motive by choosing this career will always be to help others and improve their quality of life as she was inspired by this career due to her Mother and Father. In her spare time, she can be found rollerblading, watching documentaries or spending time with animals.

Ajay Thavam

Ajay Thavam started his career in business at a young age. He founded Pro Life Wellness Centre Physiotherapy Clinics in 2012. He has also become an established entrepreneur by founding other businesses’ in the sales, marketing, and food sectors. Following his ideal career in business, he managed to put together a qualified, compassionate and dedicated health care team in order to maximize all the patient’s concerns, issues and quality of life. Ajay is always open to constructive feedback in order to accommodate everyone attending and working at his clinic. He continues to thrive at improving everyone’s experience at Pro Life Wellness Centre Physiotherapy Clinics. Ajay Thavam takes best interest in giving back to the community in hopes he will help others to make a difference. He is friendly, compassionate as well as understanding. During his spare time, he can be found enjoying sports like Basketball and outdoor activities. He is a huge fan of the Toronto Raptors. Bashar Balakirishan

Bashar has been a lifelong advocate of healthy and active living with a love for sports that is palpable. He was in high school when he obtained his first pair of custom orthotics to alleviate his debilitating arch pain. Bashar would not have been able to live his active lifestyle over the next 10+ years had it not been for his custom devices. His curiosity of lower limb biomechanics and pathologies grew over the years, which ultimately influenced him to pursue a career as a “Foot Specialist.” Bashar has always had a passion and desire to work in health care and has tailored his education to do so. His fascination with the human body and sports medicine led him to pursue an Honors Specialization in Kinesiology degree from Western University. Bashar then enrolled in the Chiropody program at the Michener Institute and graduated with an Advanced Diploma in Chiropody. As a registered Chiropodist, Bashar possesses the knowledge and skills to treat a variety of podiatric conditions. Bashar’s utmost priority as a practitioner is to improve the quality of life of every patient he sees.

Dr. Daniel Soubhi Sima’an

Dr. Daniel Soubhi Sima’an B.Sc., N.D. is a graduate of the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine and the University of Toronto with a B.Sc. (High Distinction) in integrative biology and psychology. Dr. Sima’an is bilingual and speaks English, and French and is a part of the natural healthcare education system to this day. Dr. Sima’an is an instructor at the Institute of Holistic Nutrition, and an instructor for a Naturopathic board exam prep course. Dr. Sima’an has a special interest in Men’s Health and has lectured on and treated patients for 3 years with erectile dysfunction, fertility concerns, premature ejaculation, prostate cancer, benign prostatic hyperplasia as well as all manners of mental health concerns as well. Dr. Sima’an makes it his goal to provide you with excellence in medical care, considering all factors that are contributing to your current state of health. When you come to see Dr. Sima’an expect to have your whole health evaluated, a comprehensive plan set forth as well as suggestions on how to optimize your health, your lifestyle and to make you the best you can be.

Diana Islam

Diana came to Canada from Russia in 2001, where she had a Masters degree in technology engineering. For many years back home, besides her profession, she has had the passion for sports, traditional remedies, herbs and cleansing programs that gave her the idea to change her career. After coming to Canada, she decided to become a health care practitioner to help people improve their life. She graduated from the Advanced Massage Therapy program in Centennial College after a 3 year course. Her dream of becoming professionally skilled to help people came true. During treatments Diana uses different techniques and skills she had learned at school such as Swedish massage, Myofascial release, Trigger Points Therapy, Lymphatic Drainage, Hot Stone Massage, Sports Massage, Remedial Exercises, Stretching, and Hydrotherapy. She treats clients based on their conditions, focusing on their whole body to create a balance and proper alignment, reduce pain, improve flexibility, range of motion, and to improve general well being. Diana keeps a very active lifestyle, is energized, easy going, and always looks for the most beneficial and effective treatments for clients.

Sally Tu – Registered Acupuncturist

In 2005, Sally obtained her Acupuncture license and began working so she can start relieving patients from their pain and to try to improve their quality of life. She specializes in neck, shoulder, and back pain reduction and my techniques function to help improve the immune system. On her spare time, she greatly enjoys reading and listening to music. Languages that she speaks are Mandarin and Cantonese.

Sunny Ningning Shang – Registered Acupuncturist

Sunny Ningning Shang is a registered Traditional Chinese Acupuncturist. She has successfully graduated from Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and is part of the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Sunny is bilingual and can speak English and Mandarin. She loves to help people get back to their regular activities of daily living. Other than helping her patients, she loves spending time eating and studying more about health conditions.

Dr. Tharshni Velauthapillai

Dr. Tharshni is Toronto-born and raised, and has always had an interest in health and wellness. She graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2015 before obtaining her Doctor of Chiropractic degree at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 2019. She practiced as a chiropractor for 2 years in Calgary before moving back home to practice in Toronto in 2021. Dr. Tharshni has vast clinical knowledge to diagnose and treat all neuro-musculo-skeletal conditions. She has extensive experience treating cases involving car accident injuries, workplace injuries, chronic pain disorders, pregnancy-related pain, and athletic injuries. Dr. Tharshni uses a variety of techniques for treatment including manual joint manipulation (AKA adjustments) and mobilization, instrument-assisted manipulation, soft tissue therapy, rehabilitation and exercise prescription. She has a special interest in functional medicine, which addresses the underlying causes of a disease or injury in order to achieve optimal wellbeing. Her goal is to help her patients achieve a pain-free, active & healthy lifestyle. She uses both preventative care and maintenance care to ensure her patients have long-lasting relief.

Dr. Stacey Nolan Mulla

Dr. Stacey Nolan Mulla’s strong passion for health and fitness has kept her heavily involved in the wellness industry for over 20 years. She graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Kinesiology degree in 2003 before obtaining her Doctor of Chiropractic degree at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 2007. As a licensed Chiropractor, Dr. Nolan is committed to providing high-quality care to all her clients. Therapeutic treatments include spinal adjustments, joint mobilizations, myofascial release therapy, MiyoDac tool-assisted therapy, and exercise prescription.
